Loving Altadena Through Prayer
At Vintage Church, we believe prayer is one of the most powerful ways we can love and serve our neighbors. As Altadena continues to recover, we’re inviting our church family to Adopt a Street and partner with us in covering our community in prayer.
Whether you join with your Community Group, your family, or a few friends, adopting a street is a simple but meaningful way to bring hope, care, and the presence of God right to people’s doorsteps.
What Does It Mean to Adopt a Street?
Adopting a street means committing to pray intentionally for a specific street in Altadena and delivering prayer gift packets to each home as a tangible sign of love and support. It’s about showing up spiritually for our neighbors and believing together for healing, restoration, and renewal.
All are welcome to join; no special experience is required.
How to Adopt a Street
Pick a Street: Choose a street by picking up a packet in the lobby after each service or by emailing Carla Cavalcanti at carla.cavalcanti@vintagepasadena.com to see which streets are available.
Sign Up: When you take a packet, sign your name on the sign-up sheet next to the circled packet number.
Take Your Prayer Pack: Each pack includes instructions and prayer gift packets for the homes on your street.
Pray for Your Street: Spend time praying over the street God has entrusted to you.
Drop Off Prayer Gift Packets: Deliver one prayer gift packet to each property on your assigned street (see instructions below).
Return & Celebrate: Let us know when your street is completed and place a pin on your street on the map in the lobby so we can all celebrate what God is doing together.
Watch this video from Community Pastor Carla Cavalcanti if you have a Prayer Pack!
How to Drop Off the Prayer Gift Packets
Drop off one prayer gift packet per property.
Gently place each packet at the edge of the driveway or yard area in a safe, visible location (by the mailbox if possible).
Please do not go onto any properties.
Thank you for being thoughtful, respectful, and loving as you serve our neighbors.
How to Pray for Your Street
As you pray, here are a few ways you can cover the homes and people on your street:
Pray for God’s healing over the land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Pray for God’s resurrection power over each home.
Pray for restoration over every individual and family.
Suggested Scripture Passages to Pray:
Psalm 91
Psalm 23
